The EU commends the worries of Iraq and talks about Abadi

Twilight News / praised the Foreign Ministers of Member States of the European Union, meeting on Monday in Luxembourg, the “significant progress” made by the Iraqi government in its military campaign against al Daesh over the past months, confirming the firm support for “Iraq ‘s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
The Ministers noted in a statement issued today on Iraq, to efforts by the Prime Minister Haider al – Abadi, the security forces in the war against terrorism, and they said , “must work to make tangible progress on the path of political reforms to launch a full national reconciliation.”
The European Union expressed serious concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation, stressing that Brussels keeps giving significant humanitarian aid, which totaled as presented to Iraq last year , 159 million euros.
Indeed , according the statement “was provided 42 million euros during the first half of the year for the relief of those affected.”
Turning ministers to the importance of strengthening security and the rule of law in order to achieve stability in the liberated areas, arguing the need to consider that the Iraqi security agencies improve relations with the civilian population.
In this context, the Ministers stressed that the European Union is considering, at the request of the Iraqi authorities, the possibility of deploying a team for guidance and assistance in security sector reform, which is in favor of the required reform efforts in the promotion of the country.
