Parliament extends the work of the second legislative term for one month

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) revealed the second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Haddad, the extension of the legislative term of the Council for a month.

Al-Haddad told Al-Furat News that “the presidency of parliament decided to extend the Legislative Chapter of the Council for one month to legislate laws and complete another.”

(Reuters) – The Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives decided on Sunday to lift the parliament session to Tuesday noon.

The House of Representatives decided to postpone the first reading of the draft law for the discharge of land and orchards within the basic design of the city of Baghdad and municipalities.

The House of Representatives also decided to postpone the discussion of the draft law on communications and informatics.

The House of Representatives ended the discussion of the draft law of the Federal Supreme Court, and also decided to postpone the first reading of the draft law of the first amendment to the law of the Royal Court No. (13) for the year 2010 at the request of the representative of the government.

The House of Representatives also ended the first reading of the bill to protect persons from enforced disappearance.

The Parliament voted on the draft law of ratification of the Convention on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of evasion in respect of income tax and capital between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

China loosens foreign investment restrictions amid tumbling trade tensions

The National Development and Reform Commission said it had relaxed restrictions on foreign investment in sectors including oil and gas exploration and allowed for greater openness in agriculture, mining and manufacturing. The Commission posted on its website a new shorter list of industries in which foreign investment is restricted or prohibited. The Committee reduced the number of sectors or sub-sectors on the negative list to 40 from 48 in the previous list published in June last year. The new list begins on July 30.

UN Security Council members urge Iraq to implement Article 140 of the permanent constitution

The members of the UN Security Council on Saturday urged the federal government to apply Article 140 of the permanent Iraqi constitution.
