Kubic reveals a planned visit by UN officials to Iraq

(Baghdad: al-Furat News) The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic when meeting with Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari that the next phase will witness the visit of a number of international officials in support of Iraq in many areas.
“Al-Jaafari reviewed in his Baghdad office on Sunday evening, with Kubic, the overall security developments, the political developments in the Iraqi arena, the international support provided to Iraq, and preparations for the upcoming election season,” the statement said.
“Iraq is determined to establish security, stability and dialogue, political and diplomatic coordination among the countries of the region,” Jaafari said during the meeting. “The victories achieved by Iraq were the efforts of its people and the support of the United Nations, international organizations and friendly countries.”
He added that “the task of reconstruction and construction is no less important, and responsibility for the task of combating terrorism, and we are still looking forward to the continuation of international support for Iraq,” pointing out that “the elections a station of the democratic process, and its success contributes to the building of Iraq and push the political process forward.
He noted that “the role of the United Nations in the success of the elections is important in overcoming past mistakes,” praising “the support provided by the United Nations in various fields, and the mobilization of international support for the benefit of Iraq.”
For his part, Kubic said that “the Security Council considers that Iraq is the bright spot in the region because of the great victories against the terrorist gangs and the sacrifices made by the Iraqis in their war against terrorism.”
“The United Nations is continuing to implement its pledges to support Iraq in reconstruction, development and economy,” he said. “We are ready to provide services for the success of the next election season.”
He revealed that “the next phase will witness the visit of a number of international officials in the framework of supporting Iraq in many areas,” expressing “his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the mission of Iraq at the United Nations for their cooperation and coordination and contribute to the success of the mission United Nations in Baghdad ”
