The US embassy in Iraq has confirmed that the Nineveh government will receive $ 1.4 million from the United Nations to rebuild the Flower Bridge.

The embassy said in a press statement that officials in Nineveh province are successfully implementing new techniques to repair the infrastructure destroyed by Dahesh. He pointed out that training in post-disaster management provided through USAID’s USAID Progress Project has helped Nineveh officials assess the damage to Ninewa bridges and provide funding to rebuild the Khazar bridge.

The statement added that the local government expects to receive US $ 1.4 million from UNDP for the reconstruction of the Flower Bridge, adding that the government is considering other options for the reconstruction of the Sugar Bridge.
