Earth News/ The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed today, Wednesday, its adherence to the nomination of Barham Salih for a second term as President of the Republic during the next stage.
The leader of the Union, Ghiath Al-Srouji, told Earth News, “The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan rejects the idea of the settlement candidate, and it is still insisting on the nomination of Barham Salih for a second term, and there is no other candidate for the Union.”
Al-Srouji indicated that “dialogues with the Kurdistan Democratic Party are still continuing, but without reaching any solutions or agreement, and we hope that there will be an understanding and agreement before the date of the presidential election session tomorrow, Thursday.”
Today, Wednesday, some news websites circulated information indicating the agreement of the Kurdish Democratic and National Union parties to nominate Abdul Latif Rashid for the presidency.
