Shafaq News/ Al-Fateh Alliance, which is part of the coordination framework, revealed on Saturday how the sovereign and service ministries are divided between the political blocs in the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, which is expected to be passed this week.

Member of Al-Fateh Alliance, Muhammad Al-Baldawi told Shafaq News Agency, “Al-Sudani is moving on the political parties to bring the views closer to form the new government, and there is no specific date for convening the parliament session to give confidence to his government so far,” explaining that “its convening depends on the response of the political parties and reliance on Points mechanism according to political merit.

Al-Baldawi indicated that “the session will be held on Monday or Tuesday of this week, and there is no delay in forming the government, and that the legal period has not expired,” stressing that “the discussion and dialogue are continuing, and that the Sudanese wants to choose ministerial figures who will make the next government a government of services and reconstruction.”

He pointed out that “the coordinating framework authorized the commissioner, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to choose candidates for the ministries of internal security and defense,” noting that “the distribution of ministerial portfolios to the political blocs depends on the points owned by the bloc, as the sovereign ministry requires 15 points, while the service ministry requires 5 points.”

Al-Baldawi added, “The political blocs presented their candidates to the Sudanese, and he will choose the most appropriate, and everyone should work on the success of the government by giving the Sudanese the freedom to choose candidates in the cabinet.”

A leader in the Shiite coordination framework revealed, earlier today, Saturday, that wide differences had arisen within the framework forces regarding the position of the Ministry of Interior in the new ministerial cabinet headed by Muhammad Al-Sudani, noting that the competition is fierce between National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji and Head of the Popular Mobilization Authority Faleh. Al-Fayyad, and the advisor to the Ministry of Interior, Major General Mahdi Al-Fekiki.

Earlier today, a parliamentary source reported that wide differences had arisen within the Sunni forces over the position of the Ministry of Defense, revealing that 3 candidates are competing for the defense portfolio, namely, “Khaled Al-Obeidi, Hamad Al-Namis, and Nasser Al-Ghannam.”

The House of Representatives intends to hold a special session to pass the cabinet in charge of forming the government, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, in the middle of this week.

The comprehensive coordinating framework of the Shiite forces, with the exception of the Sadrist movement, announced, on Thursday evening, the mandate of the prime minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to choose candidates to fill the ministries according to his criteria and to propose alternative candidates, while stressing the exclusion of the defense and interior ministries from political quotas.

Shafak News Agency has learned that there are differences over some ministerial portfolios, in addition to pressure being exerted on Al-Sudani in this regard.

As discussions of the division of positions continue, Al-Fateh sets two dates to pass the Sudanese government
