US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken congratulated Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Iraq.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, Blinken said, “On behalf of the government of the United States of America, I congratulate Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the Iraqi people on their national day, October 3.”
He added, “It is a day that makes us remember with pride the achievements of Iraq and the perseverance of its people. Over the past 90 years, Iraq has sought, through many ordeals, to promote a more inclusive and equitable society for its citizens and for future generations of Iraqis,” stressing that “the United States remains committed to its strategic partnership.” With Iraq, deepening and strengthening our relations under the US-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement.
He continued, “I look forward to continuing our work together regarding our common priorities and strengthening the ties between our peoples. I wish the Iraqi people the best wishes and prosperity in the coming year.” Ended 29
