{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A source in the Parliamentary Finance Committee denied that there was a meeting of the committee tomorrow, Saturday, regarding the discussion of the draft federal budget bill for 2021.
“There is no meeting for the committee tomorrow, and its meetings will resume next Sunday,” the source told Al-Furat News Agency.
The source suggested “holding a parliament session on voting on the budget at the end of next week.”
The Parliamentary Finance Committee held its 45th meeting last Wednesday, in which it resumed its discussions on the draft federal budget bill for 2021.
Committee member Shirwan Mirza expected, in a press statement, that next week the vote on the draft budget law will be witnessed after the completion of the discussion of most of the budget articles.
He added, “There are some simple matters that the Finance Committee will complete in addition to the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget,” indicating that “The next few days will witness the decision of the region’s share.”
Mirza explained, “There is flexibility from the political parties towards the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget, and I envision that there will be a joint agreement during the coming days to resolve it.”
