
The Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (RBI), Reebaz Halaman, received on Wednesday the Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister Baroness Nicholson and a delegation accompanied by the inclusion of British Ambassador to Iraq John Wilkes and the British Consul General to the Kurdistan Region Martin War.
The British envoy talked about the success of the region in overcoming the previous situation, praising the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Kurdistan, especially the remarkable and significant reforms achieved in one year, as well as the facilities granted to British companies.
The statement added that Rabaz Hablan referred to the economic and financial relations between the region and the British companies and thanked the British government for support, referring to the reforms carried out by his ministry in the fields of banks, border crossings, airports, customs and taxes and make them electronic.
Halaman pointed out that the region is making great strides towards prosperity in the economic aspects and granting the necessary facilities for foreign investment in the region.
The statement pointed out that the relations between Erbil and Baghdad were another axis of the meeting, especially raising customs points between the region and Baghdad and the share of Kurds from the draft law of the Iraqi budget for the year 2019 and the unification of customs between the two sides.
