The United Nations Compensation Commission decided Tuesday to cut 1.5 percent of Iraq’s oil exports and give it to Kuwait.

The decision comes as part of the compensation Iraq must pay to Kuwait for the 1990-1991 invasion. The committee has announced a payment of $ 270 million recently from the Iraq-funded fund for compensation, the Associated Press news agency reported.

The Committee stressed that Iraq will allocate these resources to the Fund, and is paid once at the end of every quarter economic year, where Kuwait claims that its oil company, lost $ 14.7 billion during the war, which paid Iraq of only 3.7 billion.

Baghdad sends salaries for 7 months Peshmerga

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that the federal government will send the salaries of the Peshmerga forces for a period of seven months in full.

“The budget of the Peshmerga forces is 816 billion dinars for one year, and monthly 68 billion dinars,” said the committee’s decision on behalf of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ahmed al-Saffar.

He added that “the Peshmerga has not yet received their salaries according to the budget for the year 2019,” stressing that “Baghdad will send the salaries of the Peshmerga for a period of seven months in full in the coming period.”

Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi announced on Tuesday the existence of arrest warrants issued against 11 ministers and those of their rank, pointing out the existence of 1367 cases of corruption referred to the Integrity Courts.

Abdul Mahdi said in a speech during the weekly conference that “there are unresolved issues in various state institutions amounted to 4117 cases in total,” pointing to the existence of “1367 cases of corruption referred to the courts of integrity”

“There are arrest warrants issued against 11 ministers and those of their rank,” Abdul Mahdi said. “The Anti-Corruption Council has strengthened its measures to combat corruption and to pursue the corrupt.”

“We will mention the names of the defendants if the investigations prove their corruption,” he said, adding that “we have removed the US Treasury sanctions file on the legal advisers to decide.”
