Joint operations reveal the source of the Falcon camp explosion

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, revealed the source of the explosions that took place yesterday evening Sunday in the Al-Saqr camp south of the capital, Baghdad.

Al-Khafaji told the Euphrates News Agency that the explosion “was in a container that contains materiel, which is materiel for a light weapon, not medium or heavy, but the method of the explosion was affecting civilians.”

He pointed out, “The investigative committee wants to know the reasons for the survival of this container, why the equipment was stored in this way, and the authority that carried out this procedure despite having clear and explicit instructions that all the equipment is outside the cities and not inside it.”

Al-Khafaji stressed that “the investigative committee wants to know the reasons that led to this explosion of the (Falcon Camp), and at this time, especially as it is equipment close to the cities and the official.”

The Security Media Cell said yesterday that “at forty-six minutes after the afternoon of (yesterday) Sunday, two successive explosions occurred in the Saidiya area near the Hilla highway – Baghdad, specifically at the Saqr base.

And the cell indicated that the accident was the result of an explosion of ammunition and ammunition belonging to the Federal Police due to the high air temperature and poor storage. ”
