Earth News / Dozens of followers of the Sadrist movement gathered today, Wednesday, in Tahrir Square in the center of the capital, Baghdad; Refusal to nominate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for prime minister.
And Earth News learned from a security source, that “followers of the Sadrist movement gathered in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, rejecting Al-Sudani’s nomination for prime minister.”
He added, “The security forces tightened their procedures, spread within the square, and cut off the side where the demonstrators gathered.”
The source added, “The security forces also cut off the leader coming from Karada Mariam towards Tahrir Square, and the law enforcement forces deployed at its inception,” noting that “the numbers are constantly increasing.”
Last Monday, the coordination framework officially announced the selection of Al-Sudani as a candidate for prime minister, explaining that his choice came during a meeting and in a “positive atmosphere.”
