Al-Saadi told Al-Furat News that: “The coordinating framework has reached in the past two days many positives and understandings, including that the leaders of the first line of coordination will be in the management position of the coalition, excluding these names by agreement and proceeding with the second stage in choosing the prime ministerial candidate.” 
 He pointed out that “the first phase is progressing in choosing the names for the prime minister, and there are serious and tangible dialogues for the outcomes of the prime minister being from the agreed framework.” 
Al-Saadi added, “Some parties outside the framework make it disabled to form a government, while there are differences in the Kurdish house to resolve the position of the President of the Republic, and the framework is working to resolve the Kurdish situation, and we hope in the coming hours to resolve the position of prime minister and announce the candidate’s name.”
He indicated that “there were some observations by the leaders of the framework for the acceptability of the candidate internally and internationally, which disrupted the announcement of the candidate in addition to the internal situation; but the wisdom of the framework leadership was able to proceed with the choice in the coming hours for the prime minister.” 
Al-Saadi stressed that: “The framework demanded the Kurdish parties to resolve their position and not to proceed with the 2018 scenario and to make concessions to resolve the issue of the presidency of the republic,” noting that “in the event that the 2018 scenario proceeds, it will leave differences between the two Kurdish parties and open a future gap, as it will cause a state of internal annoyance to form the next government.” “.

The Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq announced that the Coordination Framework Committee for the nomination file for the Prime Minister has completed its tasks, while indicating that the presidential candidate is close to being resolved. 
The spokesman for the Council, Ali Defense, said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that “the Quartet Committee, to which the framework was entrusted with the nomination file for the prime minister, does not have the task of selecting the candidate, but rather defining the criteria and specifications required for him, on the basis of which one of the candidates will be voted on by General Framework Authority. 
He added, “The committee completed its tasks at the end of last week, and the political forces submitted several names, and it is scheduled that the nomination of the candidate will be decided during this week.”
He added, “Among the specifications set by the committee is that the candidate should be non-controversial internally and externally, possess experience in political work, an economic vision, and firm in what suits the nature of the challenges of the stage, and that he works with a team that bears his responsibility, and sets a realistic program at the level of the people’s ambition and inclusive of all Important national files, and that he has not given pledges or promises to any internal or external party in the event of his nomination, but rather that his loyalty and work be to Iraq first and foremost, and the framework is responsible for it.

“UNITAD” stresses the accomplishment of its mission, and Baghdad calls for not “impunity”

Shafaq News/ The Iraqi National Security Adviser, Qassem al-Araji, stressed, on Sunday, to the head of the international investigation team to collect evidence condemning ISIS terrorist “UNITAD”, Counselor Christian Richer, the need to work continuously to accomplish the task of collecting evidence to condemn ISIS and not to impunity of criminals.

Al-Araji said, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that “Iraq has requested the cooperation of the international community, to assume its responsibilities in holding ISIS terrorist accountable for crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity.”

He explained, “United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2379 of 2017, set the tasks of the international team, which requires strengthening joint cooperation between Iraq and the investigation team, to enhance accountability efforts for the crimes of genocide committed by ISIS, and to provide justice to the victims and their families by not escaping these terrorists from Punishment.”

For his part, the head of the international investigation team thanked al-Araji for his continuous support for the team’s work, noting that “the team is working in full coordination with the Iraqi government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Advisory and other ministries, to accomplish the mission.”

And he stressed, “The team has prepared an action plan in coordination with the Iraqi government, to accomplish the tasks assigned to it, and that it is continuing its efforts and keenness not to impunity for all perpetrators of crimes against humanity.”

Qassem Al-Araji announces the withdrawal of his candidacy for prime minister

Shafaq News/ The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, announced on Sunday that he has withdrawn his candidacy for the post of prime minister.

Al-Araji is a leader in the Badr Organization headed by Hadi al-Amiri, who is part of the coordination framework and who became the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament after the withdrawal of the Sadrist movement.

Al-Araji said in a statement, “For nine months, the political process has been witnessing a blockage that has harmed the interests of the people and the nation, and I believe that the nation deserves sacrifice, so I thank the esteemed framework committee that nominated my name for the position of prime minister, and here I announce my apologies for accepting the nomination.”

Last Tuesday, the coordinating framework formed a committee to select candidates for the position of prime minister, comprising the Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Qais Khazali, the head of the Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the Supreme Council, Hammam Hammoudi, and the representative of the Virtue Party Abdul-Sada al-Fariji.

According to sources in the coordination framework in a previous interview, the committee reduced the nominated names and became two of those presented by the leader of the State of Law coalition Nuri al-Maliki, namely (Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani and Ali Shukri), and the other two candidates were presented by the leader of the Fatah Alliance Hadi al-Amiri, namely (Qasim al-Araji). and Faleh al-Fayyad).
