Shafaq News / The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, confirmed, on Sunday evening that his tours against the leaders of the political forces, come as a continuation of the region’s approach by opening the doors of dialogue with Baghdad.
This came during the reception of the head of the Sovereignty Party, Khamis Al-Khanjar, at his headquarters in Baghdad, Negirvan Barzani and his accompanying delegation, according to a statement received by Shafaq News.
The two parties discussed, according to the statement, a number of political files, foremost of which was the resolution of the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives as soon as possible, as it represents a political entitlement that ends the state of the legislative vacuum and the consequent legal violation.
Barzani assured Al-Khanjar that his tours in Baghdad on the leaders of the political forces are “a continuation of the approach of the Kurdistan Region in opening the doors of dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil, in order to solve all outstanding problems in accordance with the law, the Constitution and political agreements.”
For his part, Al-Khanjar pointed out that “the brothers in the region constitute an essential pillar of the political process, and that finding common formulas of understanding between all partners of the homeland, on the basis of the country’s interests and the political agreement paper and the constitution, consolidates the successes of the Sudanese brother’s government and brings the country closer to safety and political and security stability.”
