Integrity: Issuance of arrest, investigation and seizure orders against the former Minister of Finance and officials of the Al-Kazimi office

The Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of arrest warrants and investigation against a number of senior officials in the previous government on charges of facilitating the seizure of tax secretariat amounts.
The Commission’s Investigations Department, speaking about the case, reported that, following the emergence of new evidence indicating the involvement of a number of other figures in the previous government in the crime of stealing the amounts of tax secretariats, the Second Karkh Investigation Court, which specializes in integrity cases issued arrest warrants and investigation against (4) senior officials in the previous government.
She explained that arrest and investigation orders were issued against: the Minister of Finance, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Personal Secretary of the Prime Minister and the Media Advisor to the Prime Minister in the previous government.
The department continued, explaining that the orders issued, based on the provisions of Article (316) of the Penal Code, came against the background of the charge of facilitating the seizure of the amounts of tax secretariats, pointing to the issuance of orders to seize their movable and immovable funds; based on the provisions of Article (184/a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The Iraqi judiciary decided to seize the movable and immovable property of the former finance minister and three other officials.
According to a document obtained by Mawazine News, “it was decided to seize the movable and immovable property of former Minister of Finance Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, Raed Johi Al-Saadi, Director of the Office of the Former Prime Minister, Abdul Amir Hassoun Ali Taha, and Mohammed Hassoun Ali Taha, who work as a “Kasper”.

World Bank raises Iraq’s assessment of index banning discrimination in financial services

The World Bank raised Iraq’s assessment of the Financial Services Discrimination Prohibition Index under a new report titled Women and Business Activities Act of 2023.
The report, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency, praised the Central Bank of Iraq’s prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex in financial services through an official uncle, considering it a positive reform.
This allowed Iraq to be raised by the index of prohibiting discrimination in financial services, the report said. Ended 29/

Rafidain begins depositing the Iraqi dinar and handing over the dollar starting next Sunday‬

Rafidain Bank announced, on Friday, the direct deposit of the Iraqi dinar and the delivery of the dollar starting from Sunday through the electronic platform.
“After depositing the amount in dinars, the dollar currency will be received exclusively from the bank’s port at Baghdad International Airport,” the bank said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
He added that “the branches in which the dinar will be deposited are (Palestine Street Branch – Paradise Square – Arboretum – the Role of Officers – Ocean – Al-Rafei – Knowledge).” Ended 29/h
