Erdogan’s plane lands in Erbil, his second stop in Iraq

Shafaq News/ On his second stop in his visit to Iraq, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s plane landed at Erbil Airport on Monday evening, where he was received by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.

The Turkish President was also received by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, his deputy, Qubad Talabani, and members of the government.

Earlier today, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sponsored, in Baghdad, the signing ceremony of a quadripartite memorandum of understanding between Iraq, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE.

According to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the memorandum aims at joint cooperation on the strategic “development road project”, in the presence of members of the Turkish and Iraqi delegations, including ministers and advisors.

Today, Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in the capital, Baghdad, for his first visit in 13 years. Erdogan will also visit Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, after concluding his meetings with Iraqi officials in Baghdad.

Erdogan was received at Baghdad International Airport by Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani.
