Saudi Trade Minister Majid Al-Qasabi revealed on Thursday the increase in the volume of trade exchange with Iraq for one billion and 500 million dollars, while stressing that his country is ready to offer all its capabilities to Iraq.
Al-Qasabi said on the sidelines of the work of the Iraqi-Saudi Economic Forum, “the figures in the field of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries do not live up to the aspirations of leaders, businessmen and citizens of the two peoples and we aspire to raise the level of cooperation.”
He pointed out that “his country harnesses all its knowledge, systems and procedures and puts them at the disposal of Iraq,” pointing out that “the private sector is the real partner for development in any country and the backbone and the real economic leverage of any economy.”
Al-Qasabi revealed that “the volume of trade exchange in the two countries annually reached one billion and five hundred million dollars last year, which is a greater number than it was before.”
He continued, “He will discuss with his Saudi counterparts monthly the challenges of investment opportunities, solutions and proposals and will submit proposals to Iraqi officials to encourage the investment process.”
Al-Qasabi concluded: “I say to every Iraqi and Saudi, whether he is a businessman or an official; we are at your service and at your command in any problem.”
