{local: Euphrates News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced, on Sunday evening, next week, the indicator for drafting and approving the budget law.
The member of the committee, Moeen Al-Kazimi {for Al-Farrat News}, said: “The committee continues to review the ministries and various institutions to identify the budget allocated to them and the work program of this ministry, and today evening there is a meeting with the Minister of Finance and during these next few days we will finish hosting the ministries and imposing the final drafting of the law permanently.”
He added, “It is hoped that next week will be the final indicator for drafting the draft law and presenting it to the House of Representatives for approval, taking into account the required variables with regard to oil export, exchange rate and the fiscal deficit that must be reduced, especially since the remaining period of the year is 7 months for the government to start implementing its program starting next June.”
Al-Kazemi continued, “Your budget will be sufficient with the reduction,” adding, “the committee’s discussion with the ministries regarding current, operational and investment expenses, in addition to searching for the side of revenues, including the Ministry of Interior, of nationality, traffic, nationality and fines up to trillion dinars annually.”
He stressed “the need for the expenditures scheduled for the year 2023 for the ministries to be in line with the volume of the government’s total revenues, which estimated 134 trillion dinars to exceed the high fiscal deficit and reduce it by programming the remaining works for this year,” noting that “the government’s assumption is 23 trillion dinars available in the state’s treasury from previous years, adding to the revenues of 134 trillion dinars.”
“The rest will be internal and external loans to reach 64 trillion dinars and the Finance Committee seeks to reduce the deficit to 18 trillion dinars, so that the required budget is 180 trillion dinars,” Al-Kazimi continued.
