Shafaq News / The Joint Operations Command on Wednesday briefed Shafaq News on the preparations for the fortieth visit, which falls on Wednesday, September 6, expecting 7 million foreigners to participate in the visit.

“The Joint Operations Command held a conference yesterday under the chairmanship of the Deputy Joint Operations Command,” said to Shafaq Al-Khafaji, explaining that “the meeting was very important and was held in a closed-circuit television with all operations leaders and in the presence of the commander of the ground forces, the assistant of the Chief of Staff of the crowd and the commander of the ninth armored.

He explained that “the meeting included discussing the security plan for the visit and that this year is a special year and everyone is keen to make the visit a success.”

“We expect 5 to 7 million foreign visitors,” he continued, adding, “We have a service and operational plan, the last we started with a long time ago, where the Iraqi Air Force targeted the dens of terrorists in Tuz Khurmatu and today important proactive operations have been carried out in several interlocutors.”

Al-Khafaji pointed to “intensify intelligence and security efforts,” stressing “the deployment of 15,000 security elements and the intensification of the preparation of inspectors and inspectors.”

He continued, “We have 3 axes of the security plan, which are the axis of the popular crowd and the axis of the interior and defense, and there are directives issued to the processions to cooperate with the security forces.”

About five months after oil exports stopped, the Kurdistan Regional Government held a meeting with representatives of oil companies to discuss the cost of oil production according to the budget law, and discussed the protection of oil contracts, and their discussion on the draft federal oil and gas law.

The government invited all oil companies that have contracts with the Kurdistan region to a dialogue in the Council of Ministers, and the meeting was attended by the Minister of Natural Resources Agency Kamal Mohammed, the President of the Cabinet Office Omid Sabah, Cabinet Secretary Amanj Rahim, Minister of Justice First Ahmed, and the Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department Dr. Abdul Hakim Khosrow.

‎The head of the Cabinet Office said that the two sides agreed to continue negotiations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi government in order to find a solution, within the framework of the constitution and the draft budget law.

‎The meeting also discussed the draft federal oil and gas law, where the KRG team presented its assessment of the draft law, and discussed the ideas and proposals of the Iraqi government.

Shafaq News / The Securities Authority announced, today, Wednesday, the signing of a cooperation agreement between it and the International Center for Finance and Trade that commits the two parties to enhance financial investment and develop economic activities in the Kurdistan Region, in a strategic step aimed at supporting the Iraqi economy and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors.

A statement issued by the authority and responded to Shafaq News Agency said that Faisal Al-Haims, Chairman of the Securities Commission, and Saad Abdul Qahar Al-Sheikh, Director General of the International Center for Finance and Trade, signed today, Wednesday, in the city of Sulaymaniyah, the agreement, as this step comes as part of a strategy to achieve sustainable development by strengthening the economic environment and expanding the investment base.

According to the statement, the agreement included many objectives, including strengthening the role of the Central Bank of Iraq in supporting the initiative related to the establishment of the International Center for Finance and Trade in Sulaymaniyah.

The statement added that the agreement seeks to encourage and strengthen the culture of investing in securities, noting that the authority and the center are working under the agreement to exchange experiences and knowledge in the legal, administrative and technical fields to enhance the activity of investing in securities in the Kurdistan Region, and make joint efforts to attract investors and develop the economic climate.

The statement noted that within the framework of the agreement, the Securities Commission will open an office at the International Center to enhance investor confidence in accessing the stock market, while the Iraq Stock Exchange will be supported by opening a branch in the International Center, which will contribute to expanding the scope of investment and increasing financial activities.

The authority concluded its statement that this agreement “deliberates a proactive step to keep pace with global financial and trade development, and reflects the commitment of the authority and the center to enhance cooperation, achieve sustainable development and provide an appropriate environment for investment in Iraq.”
