Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed, on Saturday, with UN Special Representative of Secretary-General Genein Blaschaert, the ongoing preparations for local elections.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a copy of which was received by NRT Arabia, said that “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Jenin Blaskhart, today, Saturday, and the minister indicated during the meeting the priorities that Iraq will put forward in his participation in the meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will be held next September at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.”

The statement added that “Iraq’s relationship with the United Nations Mission on Nations Nations Nations Nations Nations Nations Nations and the specialized international agencies and their tasks, and the ongoing preparations, were discussed by the Independent High Electoral Commission on the local elections, scheduled for December 18.”

He explained, “The minister also touched on the issue of Al-Hol camp and national measures and programs on reintegration, as well as the approach of countries to evacuate their nationals, and the ongoing consultations with the United Nations and partners in this regard.”

Sabhan Mulla Giad, the prime minister’s political adviser, revealed on Saturday a expected statement that will affect the big corrupt, noting that their parties will distard them.

Sabhan told Earth News that “the pace of work of the Integrity Commission is clearly on the rise and publishes daily about the detection of one or more cases of corruption with prison sentences here and there.”
He added, “So far, the work is underway to follow up the Prime Minister and it gives rises optimism, although the work of integrity focuses on the young and middle of the corrupt, but the nature of the judicial work wants to stand before the court and make its confessions and the parties behind their corruption because therefore the young corrupt come in the middle and the last recognizes the large whales covered with a lot of camouflage.”
“In the coming days, we will witness the overthrow of major corrupt people because there is seriousness in the Sudanese direction and this is one of the priorities of his government program and with the approval of all political blocs,” Mullah Giad continued.
He pointed out, “We will witness that many political blocs will disavoid the corrupt people affiliated with them in order to avoid any embarrassment that you may find behind their actions.
Overall, I’m optimistic things are going well.”
He added that “the Sudanese are righteous with his promises and his program, which he promised the Iraqi people and promised him the political allies in general way.”

Shafaq News / The Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Kurdistan Region, Nozad Sheikh Kamel, said on Saturday that the ministry intends to open offices in four land border ports to grant licenses for direct trade dealing with Iran and Turkey.

Sheikh Kamel said in a speech during the trade exchange conference between the region and Iran held in Sulaymaniyah, that during the first six months of 2023, more than 2,000 licenses were granted to traders more than 1,000 of which related to dealings with Iran.

“This trade movement makes us feel that the trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran are at a good level,” he added.

Sheikh Kamel continued by saying: We obtained approval to open offices at the four land border crossings, namely: (Ibrahim Khalil, Haj Omran, Pervezkhan and Bashmakh), indicating that the purpose of opening these offices is for traders to go directly to them for the purpose of obtaining approvals and licenses without referring to the ministry in Erbil.

New Directives From The Central Bank For All Banks

The Central Bank of Iraq directs all banks to take new controls regarding prepaid cards for the purpose of regulating financial movements taking place inside Iraq.

1- The ceiling of withdrawals for local financial movements (within Iraq) made through automated exchange machines (ATM) for prepaid cards shall be 2,000,000 (two million Iraqi dinars) per day instead of (395,000) Iraqi dinars.

2- Raising the ceiling of the purchase movement through points of sale inside Iraq to be 10,000,000 (ten million Iraqi dinars) with a commitment not to exceed the monthly limit for charging the card, which is (10 million).

3- Reducing the electronic purchase ceiling to be (750) US dollars per day.

4- It is your responsibility to expand your dealer network by contracting with entities that are allowed to sell and market this type of card.

5- Exclusion of local financial movements on prepaid cards with the obligation contained in paragraph (5) of the above related to merchant category codes (MCC), provided that they are included in the legitimate purposes of purchase and payment.
