The files that were raised during the meetings and that appeared during the press releases are “countless”, but the “hidden” reasons for which these meetings were held may be “important” and their impact on the entire region.
Earlier today, Wednesday, the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, received in his office the Ambassador of the United States of America, Elena Romansky, and the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to the visit of the Iraqi security delegation to Washington recently.
Al-Fateh Alliance, expressed its position on the recent US moves with the leaders of the political blocs, while stressing that America is trying to find loopholes to enter Iraq officially.
The leader of the coalition, Ali al-Fatlawi, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, “The differences inside Iraq are only in favor of the American occupation, which tries from time to time to find loopholes for them to enter Iraq officially and legitimately.”
And he added, “The meetings that the American ambassador conducts with the leaders of the Iraqi political blocs, if they are in the interest of Iraq from an economic and political point of view, discussing the issue of paying debts to neighboring Iran, or other important files, or the process of withdrawing American forces and finding solutions for advisers or trainers, is not have any problem.”
The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance explains: “But if these meetings are behind plans to aggravate the situation in Iraq, on which Washington lives, the public will have a say regarding the recent ambassador’s moves.”
Al-Fatlawi clarifies: “We have full confidence in the leaders of the political blocs, and it is important that there is no equality in the security and sovereignty of the country,” adding, “If these visits that Romansky is making to the leaders of the blocs serve Iraq, there is no problem, but in the event that there are malicious mechanisms for the ambassador, We certainly reject it categorically.”
In addition, the political analyst, Saad Al-Zubaidi, explained the reason for the recent US ambassador’s moves in Iraq, while confirming that she had crossed all red lines.
Al-Zubaidi mentioned, in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the American ambassador was not absent from the Iraqi political scene, whether she was in Baghdad or Washington, and perhaps there are instructions and advice that America is trying to provide, especially after the recent meeting that took place between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in the presence of a number of security leaders with The Pentagon, and discussing a number of files, including the strategic framework agreement.
He points out, “The recent moves that America is making on the Iraqi-Syrian border, and the large deployment of US forces and the increase in their numbers at Ain al-Assad base, may aim to move inside the Syrian depth.”
And the political analyst explains, “The recent moves of the US ambassador are likely to be messages of reassurance from the Washington administration, that this file does not concern the Iraqi government.”
Al-Zubaidi expects that “there will be a major change in the map of the region, given that America does not want to fight more than one axis, as it is trying to block the road between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq, passing through Syria and Lebanon.”
And he continues, “The American ambassador crosses all known red lines in the work of ambassadors outside their countries, and her recent moves and her meeting with Iraqi officials may have some understandings.”
The meetings of the American ambassador, from the first moment to form the current government, arouse fear and anger, amid many political and popular demands to stop it, but what she is doing now is a significant escalation of these moves, which may herald a “disaster” in the coming days.
