Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs preside over the seventh session of 2023 of the Ministerial Council on Economy

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired today, Monday, February 27, 2023, the seventh meeting of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the President of the National Investment Authority and the Prime Minister’s Advisors for Economic and Legal Affairs.
The Council hosted the Minister of Health and the Director General of the General Company for Drug Marketing to discuss facilitating the work of the health sector and providing medicines, medical supplies and modern laboratories to promote the health reality.
The Council discussed the economic topics on its agenda and took many economic decisions on them.
The council also hosted the technical agent of the Ministry of Agriculture and took a decision to support the local product of table eggs by urging the Ministry of Commerce to contract with local producers under contracts concluded between them to buy the product in the event that the prices of table eggs fall below the average cost of local production with subsidies for vaccines, medicines and feed by recommending to reduce the fees imposed on them

Twilight News / Erbil Governor Umid Khoshnau announced on Monday the allocation of land for 15 industrial projects in the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

This came during Khoshnaw’s presidency, a meeting of the Development and Industrial Projects Support Committee in Erbil, according to a statement received by Shafaq News.

According to the statement, it was decided at the meeting to allocate land to implement 15 heavy and medium industrial projects, whose owners applied for land.

The statement pointed out that “the allocation of these lands aims to continue the development of industrial projects, promote local products and encourage the private sector to invest in the capital Erbil.”

Minister of Finance directs to increase the number of US dollar exchange outlets to citizens at the official rate

Finance Minister Tayf Sami directed on Monday to increase the number of outlets selling dollars to citizens at the official price.
Sami said in a statement issued during her visit to Rafidain and Rashid Banks that “projects to modernize banking systems and adopt advanced methods to improve the level of services for banks, especially with regard to point of sale systems and facilities that the Ministry of Finance is working to provide within the framework of circulating the new experience as one of the main pillars in modern banking systems.”
She stressed “the security of all the requirements for completing the stages of the comprehensive banking system project in agreement with the executing company (Ernst & Young) in terms of securing databases and servers, in addition to agreeing on a maintenance, operation and training contract and all procedures to ensure the success of the project,” noting “the importance of completing the conditions for the adoption of modernization system
Sami directed “increasing the number of outlets selling US dollars to citizens at the official rate installed by the Central Bank, through branches spread in Baghdad and the provinces, to ensure the smoothness of obtaining foreign currency and reduce the resulting momentum and delays.”
