Transport Minister Razak Muhaips Al-Saadawi on Monday directed that tickets for passengers be cut in dinars instead of dollars.A statement by the ministry and a copy of it said that “in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Mr. Razzaq Muhaips Al-Saadawi, directed all formations of the ministry, especially the General Company of Iraqi Airways, to deal with cutting tickets for passengers in Iraqi dinars instead of the dollar.
The minister stressed, according to the statement, “obliging all formations of the ministry, especially the General Company of Iraqi Airways, to deal in dinars and at the price of the Central Bank of Iraq,” warning that “violators of directives and special reform measuresBy addressing the dollar crisis, they will expose themselves to legal accountability.”The statement called on “citizens to report any violation in this regard.”
