{Economic: Euphrates News} Member of the House of Representatives Hussein Al-Sabari revealed, on Saturday, serious steps for parliament to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar.
“The rise in exchange rates affects all segments of the Iraqi people,” Al-Sabari said in a statement to {Euphrates News}, adding: “We met two days ago with the Governor of the Central Bank Ali Al-Alaq and stressed to us the seriousness of working to reduce the exchange rate and stabilize it.”
He continued: “There are joint steps with the government on the one hand and with the US Federal Bank on the other and with the market and traders, and we gave them a call to reduce the market and time because the situation began to put pressure towards the Iraqi public.”
During nearly a month, Iraq witnessed a significant rise in the dollar exchange rate in the country, which touched the 170,000 to remain between 157 and 167,000 per hundred dollars.
