{Politics: Al Furat News} A leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party revealed the “undeclared results” of the meeting of the governments of Baghdad and the Kurdistan region.
The head of the regional government, Masrour Barzani, arrived this morning in the capital, Baghdad, at the head of a high-level delegation.
Mahdi Al-Faili told {Euphrates News} agency: “Today’s meeting reached a solution to a number of issues, the most prominent of which is the agreement that the region’s share of the general budget for the current year be 14%, and that the region continues to deliver oil until the approval of the oil and gas law after a period not exceeding 4 years.” months from now.”
He added, “As for Article 140 of the constitution (concerning the disputed areas), it will need more time, which may exceed a year, because this article needs a referendum and legislation.”
An expanded technical meeting was held between the federal government and the delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Baghdad
A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office stated, “The meeting witnessed extensive discussions regarding the general federal budget law for the year 2023, and an emphasis on the speed of its resolution, so that strategic plans, programs and projects in the field of services, economy, investment, and other files can be implemented.”
The statement added, “It also dealt with a number of contentious issues between Baghdad and Erbil, especially with regard to the oil and gas law, and the emphasis on resolving them in accordance with what was stated in the constitution.”
The meeting included the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, the Ministers of Finance, Construction, Housing and Municipalities, the Head of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision, the Border Ports Officer, the Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Legal Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the General Manager of SOMO Company.
While the delegation of the Kurdistan Region included the Minister of Finance and Economy, the Minister of Electricity and Natural Resources, the Chief of the Cabinet Office in the Kurdistan Region, the Director of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and the representative of the regional government in Baghdad.
