{Local: Al-Furat News} Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, met today, Wednesday, Wadih Al-Handal, head of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, and his accompanying delegation, while the two sides discussed mechanisms for activating the Private Sector Development Council.
And the media of the Ministry of Planning stated in a statement received by {Euphrates News}, that “during the meeting, they discussed the role of the development banking sector and financing investment projects, within the framework of working to achieve partnership between the public and private sectors.”
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the mechanisms for activating the Private Sector Development Council, which is chaired by the Minister of Planning, and the need to work on enacting a law for this council due to its importance in supporting and empowering the private sector, which has many tasks ahead of it.
In addition, Al-Handal and the members of the delegation reviewed the most prominent social and economic activities that are being implemented by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks in Baghdad and a number of governorates, as well as addressing the future prospects for the banking sector in Iraq.
