The most important thing in Al-Kazemi’s speech:

I am pleased to greet you on behalf of Iraq, which is one of the founding countries of this organization that hosts us.

Iraq is a historical country deeply rooted in human memory, and there are great challenges that seem difficult, especially at the level of internal political conflict, but there is, on the other hand, a spirit of hope among the people of Iraq, who have the ability to seize the opportunity for life, progress and peace.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the Iraqis used that spirit of hope to fight terrorism and to defeat it on behalf of the whole world. Our people made huge sacrifices to liberate their lands from the terrorist gangs of ISIS.

I remember here the Iraqi martyrs who gave their lives to defend the values of freedom, justice, democracy and human rights.

During that just war, the Iraqi military forces acquired unique skills in fighting ISIS and enforcing the law, and Iraq benefited from the experiences of its allies in its fight against terrorism, we renew our thanks and appreciation to them.

We renew the call of the Government of the Republic of Iraq to the need to continue confronting the phenomenon of international terrorism and the groups supporting it.

Iraq looks forward to receiving more UN support in the reconstruction of the liberated areas affected by the occupation of the terrorist gangs of ISIS, as well as UN aid to respond to the necessary emergency humanitarian needs; To enhance Iraq’s capabilities in rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure.

The state ministries and institutions have continued their efforts to return the Iraqi families in al-Hol camp in Syria to Iraqi lands, and return them to their areas.

We have put in place a comprehensive government program for the reconstruction of liberated areas, the repair of infrastructure, and the safe and voluntary return of the displaced.

From this podium, Iraq reiterates its calls not to use its lands under the pretext of combating terrorism, or protecting the national security of other countries; thus endangering its security and stability.

Iraq stresses the need to respect the principles stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations and the rules of international law and international relations, with respect for the sovereignty of states, and the principles of good neighbourliness. The Government of Iraq affirms its adherence to an approach that calls for resolving the accumulated differences through diplomatic channels.

This government worked to establish fair and honest elections with the support of the Security Council, the United Nations, and other international organizations, and they were praised for its high integrity and professionalism.

Here, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to all organizations and countries, and to everyone who helped support these elections, especially the supreme reference, Mr. Sistani, for his protection of the democratic process in Iraq.

Despite the success of the elections, the political forces were unable to agree on the formation of the government; Which led to the creation of a political blockage. My government has called for a serious and transparent dialogue for all political forces and different parties; To discuss ways out of the current political crisis.

Iraq seeks to bring views closer and find sustainable peaceful solutions to regional crises and differences between the countries of the region, by putting forward several initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and security in our region.

Baghdad hosted many meetings between these countries; This is the result of the balanced policy in which this government operates, and the Iraqi diplomacy with neighboring countries.

The Baghdad Partnership and Cooperation Conference in August of last year enjoyed wide participation by the regional neighbors and brotherly and friendly countries, where the conference came out with important recommendations embodied in the Declaration of the Baghdad Summit.

Iraq is going through difficult climatic conditions due to the scarcity of water resources, the change of river courses that it shares with neighboring countries, the establishment of projects without taking into account their effects on water quotas, and the equitable use of riparian countries.

All these conditions combined have led Iraq to become the fifth most vulnerable country to climate change. This recently led to the drying up of most of the areas of the Iraqi Marshes, and affected the livelihoods of hundreds of rural families in the Iraqi Marshes.

This led to an increase in desertification and internal displacement; And to the loss of livelihood sources for many families, and the reduction of the proportion of agricultural land.

We call on all countries in the region for dialogue to resolve water issues in accordance with international laws and agreements.

This government has worked on important strategic projects in the field of clean energy, associated gas extraction, and other areas related to the green economy.

This requires international support in its various fields to support its efforts and enable it to move forward in implementing national policies and strategies on both sides of mitigating and adapting to the negative effects of climate change.

We have placed the implementation of the goals of the National Strategy for General and Higher Education for the year 2030, at the top of our priorities, the most important of which are increasing the school enrollment rate to reach (100%), improving the quality of public and higher education, and developing technologies and educational technology.

We launched the National Initiative for Early Childhood Development, which covers a period of 10 years; With the aim of reducing the illiteracy rate in our society, and providing an appropriate educational environment for our children.

We embarked on a campaign to build hundreds of schools in various governorates after they suffered from a great shortage during the past decades, in addition to facilitating the tasks of building universities and colleges.

We affirm Iraq’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, and respect for the historical status of the city of Jerusalem and its sanctities.

We affirm our keenness on the territorial integrity and integrity of Syria, and support the conduct of political talks between all Syrian parties, and support the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Regional crises and wars have consequences for all countries of the world, and peoples always pay the price for these wars; Accordingly, we stress the need to find peaceful and sustainable solutions to regional and international crises through dialogue, and not to resort to the use of force.

Shafaq News/ The head of the Iranian-Iraqi Joint Chamber, Yahya Al Ishaq, expected on Friday that Iraq will turn into the largest economic market in the region during the next decade, especially for Iran, stressing that his country seeks to increase the volume of trade exchange with this neighboring country.

The Iranian official attributed, in a statement carried by the semi-official Iranian news agency “Fars” today, the reason for the decline in Iran’s exports to Iraq during the past two months due to the export of gas and electricity to this country, explaining that given the talks that took place between the two countries, this issue should be resolved.

He added that in addition to the decline in the volume of Iranian exports to Iraq, we also witnessed an increase in the export of non-oil goods to this country, and we hope that our exports to Iraq will reach 10 billion dollars by the end of the current Iranian year (ending March 20, 2023).

Al Ishaq considered the Iraqi market to be a strategic market, and he expected that the percentage of exports to this country would rise during the next few months, especially as trade exchanges with Iraq could reach $20 billion within the coming years.

He also said that, during the next 10 years, Iraq will turn into the largest economic market in the region, especially for Iran. He saw that Iraq is not a weak country in economic terms, as it exported 11 billion oil last month only and intends, according to the planning of its program, to obtain 120 billion dollars this year.

The Iranian official added that, given the conditions that prevail in Iraq due to the conditions in which it lived due to the war and other issues, it has become lagging behind in the areas of production, infrastructure, electricity, gas and roads, and believed that compensation for this would provide more opportunities for economic activists in Iran, which has neighborly ties with Iraq, as Iranian economic activists should take advantage of these opportunities in the best possible way.
