Mr. Al-Hakim: The political crisis is solvable, and attendance in decision-making is not required to participate in the government

We received in our office this evening, Ms. Barbara Leaf, US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, in the presence of His Excellency the US Ambassador in Baghdad, Mrs. Elena Romaneski. We discussed files of common interest and bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America, as well as developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region.
We explained the importance of strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the United States of America in the field of infrastructure development and reconstruction, and we stressed the need to maintain cooperation in a way that preserves the interests of all and the sovereignty of Iraq.
We reiterated that the political crisis in Iraq is solvable if everyone enjoys the will to resolve and compromise for the Iraqi interest, and we have clarified the importance of partnership in Iraqi decision-making, just as attendance in decision-making does not require participation in the government.

We also stressed respect for the constitutional institutions in Iraq, and said that reform begins with reforming the institutions, and reminded us that the democratic practice came as a result of the great sacrifices made by Iraq in the face of dictatorship and terrorism.
On the issues of the region, we emphasized that any dialogue aimed at calming the atmosphere between the parties in the region is in the interest of Iraq and everyone, and that Iraq played a role in bringing points of view closer to its conviction that dialogue is the best way and that the problems are solvable if everyone goes towards it.

Shafaq News/ The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Monday to continue with reform, and said that “Ibn al-Da’i” will not judge us, whoever he is.

And “Ibn Al-Da’i” is a word that Imam Al-Hussein used in the incident of Al-Tuff towards Ubayd Allah Ibn Ziyad, saying, “Except that Al-Dua’i bin Al-Dua’ has focused between two people, between the basket and the humiliation, and there is no humiliation from us.”

Al-Sadr said, “Those people told them that the people had gathered against you, so fear them, so it increased their faith, and they said, God suffices us and He is the best agent.”

He added, “Continue to reform no matter what happens, for I and my companions are neither easterners nor westerners…and no one will rule over us (Ibn al-Dua’i).”

And he continued, “And when you have withdrawn from them and worship none but God, take refuge in the cave: (reform) and (homeland) your Lord will spread for you his mercy and prepare you for your affairs with ease. O my Lord, prepare for us from our commands guidance.. You are my God, my master, and my master. Make clear the word of truth: (reform) and make it supreme, and refute the word of falsehood: (corruption) and make it the most perfect, for you are powerful over all things.

OPEC + agrees to a small cut in oil production

Shafaq News/ OPEC and its allies led by Russia agreed on Monday to slightly reduce oil production to support prices that fell due to fears of an economic slowdown.

Oil producers will cut production by 100,000 barrels per day, which is just 0.1% of global demand, for the month of October, and also agreed that they may meet any time to adjust production before the next meeting scheduled for October 5.

The decision basically maintains the status quo as OPEC has been noticing extreme fluctuations in oil prices, affected by multiple factors in both directions.

Saudi Arabia, the largest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), last month signaled the possibility of cutting production to address what it sees as exaggerated drops in oil prices.

Benchmark Brent crude has fallen to around $95 a barrel from $120 in June on fears of an economic slowdown and recession in the West.

It was also affected by a possible increase in supplies from the return of Iranian crude to the market if Tehran can revive its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Iran is expected to add 1 million barrels per day to supply, or 1% of global demand, if sanctions are eased, although prospects for a nuclear deal appeared less clear on Friday.

However, signs from the physical market suggest that supply remains tight and many OPEC countries are producing below targets while new Western sanctions threaten Russian exports.

Johnson's successor.. Terrace pledges to tackle Britain's energy crisis

{International: Al Furat News} Liz Truss, the winner of the ruling Conservative Party leadership, who will become Britain’s new Prime Minister to succeed Boris Johnson, has pledged to work on a plan to address the country’s energy crisis.

In a speech to the Conservative Party conference after her victory was announced on Monday, Truss said that from week one she would lay out a plan to tackle rising energy bills and secure future fuel supplies.

She said she would also petition to cut taxes, grow the economy, and work on a health care plan.

Britain is suffering from an energy crisis, like its neighbors in Europe, as a result of the lack of Russian gas supplies, which led to the rise in electricity and gas prices at record levels, which negatively affected the living life of the population.

And from next October, household energy bills in Britain will increase by about 80%, according to the new prices approved by the regulator in the country.

Britain’s inflation rate jumped to 10.1 percent on an annual basis last July, the highest level in more than four decades, and is expected to continue rising to 13 percent after the increase in energy prices.

Pessimism is increasing recently about the British economy towards recession. The Bank of England expects the recession to start in the last quarter of this year and to last until early 2024.

Follow-up – Mawazine News
The Russian economist, Anton Tabagh, said that the current system of monetary relations and trade settlements has been in crisis for a long time, but the recent geopolitical events may take another dimension and form.

“The current financial system has deteriorated for a long time. The stagnation in the volume of trade exchange and freedom of trade has worsened since 2012, and the financial system is collapsing due to the requirements of regulators and the fight against money laundering, and more recently also because of sanctions. Taking into account the Taking into account recent events outside the financial sphere, this process could take another full-fledged form.”

The economist expressed confidence that the new system is in the process of taking shape.

“If you look at history, something similar happened already in the second half of the nineteenth century, when currency blocks and customs unions were created, restrictions and fees were imposed on transactions outside these blocks and unions. Now we are seeing this at a new stage and a new technological level,” he said. Ended 29/N33
