Shafaq News/ The United Nations mission in Iraq “UNAMI” stressed on Tuesday the need for state institutions to work without “obstacle”, in response to the Sadrist movement’s start of protests in front of the Supreme Judicial Council building.

In a post on social media, the mission said, “The right to peaceful protest is an essential element of democracy. No less important is the affirmation of constitutional compliance and respect for state institutions.”

The statement stressed that “state institutions must work without hindrance to serve the Iraqi people, including the Supreme Judicial Council.”
