Shafaq News / The government palace in Baghdad witnessed today, Wednesday, the start of the meeting of leaders of political parties and blocs, in the presence of the UN representative in Iraq, Jenin Plaschaert, and the boycott of the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr.

A source told Shafaq News Agency that “all the leaders of the political blocs, the head of the Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, attended a meeting called by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi at the government palace, yesterday, Tuesday, at the palace.” government in Baghdad.

The source added that “among the attendees are the leaders of the Shiite coordination framework as a whole, while the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr boycotted this meeting.”

For his part, the private office of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr in Najaf, announced that “the Sadrist movement, with all its addresses and political figures, did not participate in the political dialogue called by the Prime Minister today, neither directly nor indirectly.”

In turn, the head of the Sanad Gathering, Ahmed Al-Asadi, said in a tweet on Twitter that “the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri will be a representative of him and the leader of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais Khazali, and the head of the Supreme Council Hammam Hammoudi in the meeting.”

Yesterday, Tuesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi called the leaders of the political forces to a national meeting at the Government Palace tomorrow; To start a “serious” dialogue, stressing on all parties the need to “stop the popular and media escalation.”

Al-Kazemi’s call comes in light of the worsening political reality between the coordination framework on the one hand and the Sadrist movement on the other hand, regarding the formation and form of the government, and it has reached, according to observers, “breaking the wills” in light of the continuous sit-ins on both sides.
