Shafaq News/ A source in the Coordinating Committee of the sit-in carried out by supporters of the Sadrist movement reported on Friday that the protesters had been expelled from the Iraqi parliament building and closed.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, “This evening, the committee expelled the protesters, closed the parliament building and cleaned it after the deadline (72) set by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr.”
The source confirmed; That “the sit-in is open and continuing in the outer courtyard outside the parliament building, and there is no withdrawal of the protesters.”
A close associate of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, nicknamed “the Leader’s Minister”, said on Tuesday (August 2nd), “After the parliament was liberated and turned into a parliament for the people, thanks to God Almighty and the efforts of the heroic revolutionaries, it was decided to vacate the parliament building and turn the sit-in in and around parliament and its approaches within a maximum period of 72 hours from the date of this publication.
