Earth News / The Organizing Committee for Supporting Legitimacy and Preserving State Institutions called today, Sunday, “the Iraqi people of all spectrums and their clan, academic and cultural activities to demonstrate tomorrow, Monday, on the green walls.”

In a statement received by Earth News, the committee said, “We call on our Iraqi people, with all their spectrum, clan, academic and cultural activities, to rush to demonstrate peacefully to defend their state, whose pillars have been proven by the blood of thousands of martyrs, in the face of dictatorial tyranny, occupation, sectarianism, ISIS terrorism and the future of their children, which the mobilization of Iraq and its security forces were keen on guarantee.”

He added, “The recent developments warn of planning a suspicious coup, kidnapping the state, canceling its legitimacy, insulting its constitutional institutions and canceling the democratic process in it.

The statement indicated that “the date of the demonstration will be tomorrow at five in the afternoon on the walls of the Green Zone in central Baghdad.”

The followers of the Sadrist movement stormed, for the second time in a row in less than a week, the fortified Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, to enter the parliament building and sit in its corridors; In protest against the nomination of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani for the position of prime minister, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi suspended parliament sessions until further notice.
