The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Abdul Salam Barwari, announced today, Tuesday, his refusal to nominate the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, for prime minister, describing his government as “dead.”
Berwari called in a statement to (Baghdad Today), “the coordinating framework not to nominate the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, for the position, for fear of igniting the street with demonstrations.”
The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Jadaan, confirmed earlier today, Tuesday, that more than 80% of the framework forces supported al-Maliki’s candidacy for prime minister.
