Resumption of dialogue between the two Kurdish parties regarding the presidency of the Republic

Dilshad Shaaban, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, confirmed today, Monday, that dialogues will resume again between the two Kurdish parties.
Shaaban told (Baghdad Today), “The resumption of dialogues will be initiated, with the aim of reaching an agreement regarding important issues between the two parties, especially the presidency of the republic.”

He added, “The Democratic Party does not want to repeat the experience of 2018 and the Kurds go with more than one candidate for the presidency of the republic,” noting that “at the same time we want to preserve our electoral and political entitlement, and we hope others will make concessions.”
Earlier on Friday, a member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Sabah Hassan, confirmed that a meeting will be held for the Kurdish parties next week, in the presence of the United Nations representative, Jenin Plasschaert .

Hassan told (Baghdad Today), “The Kurdish parties will try to resolve the files of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, fix their date, and discuss the election law and the commission .”
He added that “the meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Kurdistan Region Presidency and sponsored by it, and in the presence of the representative of the United Nations, Jenin Plasschaert . “
He stressed that “this meeting will be the beginning of resolving all outstanding problems between the Kurdish parties, especially between the two main parties.”
