A Statement From The Kurdistan Democratic Party After A Meeting With Masoud Barzani

Earth News/ The spokeswoman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the House of Representatives, Vian Dakhil, revealed today, Saturday, the details of the meeting of the bloc’s members with party leader Massoud Barzani.

An intruder said in a statement received by Earth News, “President Masoud Barzani met with the Kurdistan Democratic bloc in the Iraqi parliament, today, Saturday, and during the meeting several files were discussed, as President Barzani spoke about the political situation in Iraq in general, and recent developments, following the resignation of Deputies of the Sadrist bloc, as President Barzani stressed that regardless of who will lead the scene, we are the owners of a legitimate cause, and the constitutional rights of the Iraqi people, the region and the rights of the people of Kurdistan must be defended.

She added, “President Barzani also touched on the issue of the need to deal with political parties in accordance with the provisions of the Iraqi federal constitution, and that we also be dealt with according to the constitution, stressing the need to take into account three principles, namely partnership, consensus and balance, and that the Democratic Party is not with fabricating conflicts and deepening crises. Because what is important to him is the preservation of constitutional rights and the dignity of citizens.”

And she continued, “It was also confirmed during the meeting that the party adheres to its candidate for the presidency of the republic, and that the round of negotiations with the rest of the parties will start after the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday.”
