Shafaq News/ A close friend of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, renewed on Saturday his position rejecting consensus to proceed with the political process in Iraq.
Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, who is close to al-Sadr and who identifies himself as the “minister of the leader”, said in a post on the social networking sites “Facebook”, “There is a covenant between our leader and God (..) that he will not put his hands in the hands of any corrupt,” stressing that “He will not return to Iraq.” to agree, whatever the outcome.
He described al-Sadr’s withdrawal from the political process as “a victor’s withdrawal”, and a “step to save the nation.”
Al-Iraqi continued by saying that “the withdrawal will reveal the truth about those claiming to defend the sect, so you see what they are doing in the absence of a popular class that is the most courageous and bravest in resisting the occupation and the war of terrorism and the closest to the hearts of the people and the fair ones, and we will not share them no matter what happens.”
