Shafaq News/ The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said on Monday that Iraq is on the verge of development and economic reform after the formation of a strong government capable of meeting the aspirations of the people.

This came during his reception in his office today, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.

During the meeting, they “discussed the future of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the latest developments in the political situation and the ongoing dialogues in order to complete the constitutional entitlements.”

Al-Maliki stressed, “Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its relations with all countries of the world,” stressing “the importance of increasing cooperation between Baghdad and London in various fields.”

The head of the State of Law coalition pointed out that “Iraq is on the verge of a process of economic reform and development after the formation of a strong government capable of meeting the aspirations of the Iraqi people,” noting that “Iraq needs the support of all national forces in uniting efforts and giving priority to the public interest.”

In turn, Ambassador Richardson expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations with Iraq, stressing that “Britain stands at the same distance from all parties.”

This comes at a time when a leader in the coordination framework revealed, today, Monday, the occurrence of new differences between the forces of the framework.

The leader said, in a statement to Shafaq News Agency, asking not to be named, that the new dispute is related to the issue of dissolving the parliament and going to early elections, as the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, strongly rejects this, while the leader of the Fatah Alliance Hadi al-Amiri and al-Amin supports the issue. Qais Khazali, the leader of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, for their refusal to form any government to boycott the Sadrist movement.

He added, “The leaders of the coordination framework will hold a meeting later in the day before their meeting with the Azm Alliance and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, to discuss the file of dissolving the parliament and going to early elections, and coming up with a unified position from all the forces of the framework.”
