Baghdad – Mawazine News The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers set, on Wednesday, the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
And the secretariat said in a statement received by Mawazine News, that “Sunday, corresponding to the first of next May, will be an official holiday, on the occasion of the International Labor Day, and the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday begins from the same day, and ends on Thursday, the fifth of May.”
The statement added, “The official working hours in all government institutions will resume on Sunday, the eighth of next May.” Ended 29/N33
Baghdad – Mawazine News , Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi considered, on Wednesday, that Iran’s stability reflects positively on Iraq, while stressing the need to preserve sovereignty and good neighborliness and protect the rights of citizens.
Al-Halbousi said in a press conference he held in Tehran with his Iranian counterpart, Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf, that “the parliaments represent the peoples and strive to promote everything that can be reflected on their people.”
Al-Halbousi stressed, “The continuity of cooperation between the two neighboring countries, because Iran’s stability reflects positively on Iraq and vice versa.”
He added, “We are working to completely restore stability in the region by taking serious steps, and our peoples we represent are looking forward to better relations, and that these steps will be reflected in what secures their future with security and economic stability, and removes the danger and specter of wars and crises.”
He stressed that “preserving sovereignty, good neighborliness and protecting the rights of citizens, are the general principles that must be fixed in the relations between the countries of the region and between the two neighboring countries.” Ended 29/N33
Shafaq News/ The coordination framework confirmed, on Wednesday, its participation in the next session to vote on the law on emergency support for food security and development and to select parliamentary committees.
Member of the framework, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, told Shafaq News Agency, “The coordination framework blocs will participate in the session that will be held after the Eid holiday, if the session is dedicated to voting on the draft law on emergency support for food security and development and completing the selection of permanent committee membership.”
She added that “the law of emergency support for food security is one of the important laws and cares for segments of society, especially since the law supports the items of the ration card, social protection and farmers’ entitlements. Everyone must attend to vote on the law in the session scheduled to be held after the Eid holiday on May 7th.”
Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani received today, Tuesday, a high-ranking US diplomatic and military delegation headed by Dina Strol, US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Middle East Affairs.
The delegation also included Matthew Tueller, the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Trollinger, deputy director of political and military affairs for the US joint forces in the Middle East, and a number of political and military officials.
A statement issued by the presidency stated that at the beginning of the meeting, Stroll affirmed America’s vision and policy by committing to the continuity of political and military support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and to proceed with joint partnership and cooperation between them, appreciating the sacrifices of the Peshmerga forces in the war against ISIS.
For his part, President Nechirvan Barzani renewed his thanks and appreciation for providing support and assistance by the United States and the international coalition against ISIS to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in the face of terrorism, according to the statement.
The statement added that the two sides agreed on the importance and necessity of the steps taken by the Iraqi components to get out of the political crisis in the country, and the advent of a government that responds to what the citizens expect from it, and is able to face challenges, and stressed the importance of cohesion and unity of the ranks of the Kurdish parties, and within this framework was also emphasized on Continuation of dialogue to resolve differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
In another axis, the meeting described the movements and attacks of ISIS in different regions of Iraq and Syria as serious threats and real dangers. In the meantime, the two sides stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army so that they could support the international coalition, in the face of these dangers, and the complete elimination of ISIS, which has become It threatens peace and stability in Iraq and the region.
