A Kurdish delegation meets in Baghdad over the oil file after the Federal Court’s decision

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Oil announced that it will receive the first delegation representing the Kurdistan Regional Government to discuss the oil file, after the decision of the Federal Court. 
A statement by the ministry, received by (Baghdad today): “The first meeting between the Federal Oil Ministry and a high-ranking delegation representing the Kurdistan Regional Government will be held in Baghdad today, Monday, to discuss the executive measures after the Federal Court’s decision.”

The statement added, “The meeting also comes to discuss agreement on new and standard mechanisms for managing the oil industry file in the region, in a manner that achieves the highest benefit and financial returns in the service of the public interest, contributing to strengthening and supporting the national economy and the integration of the national oil industry.”
And he continued, “The delegation of the regional government, which arrived in Baghdad, includes a number of officials in the government and the Ministry of Natural Resources, including three personalities with the rank of minister.”

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Oil has formed specialized committees in this regard to prepare a road map to discuss and circulate all files related to the oil industry in the region.

Intensive specialized meetings and workshops were held with local and international experts, and the National Oil Company assigned specialized consultants to review all contracts concluded between the regional government and international companies.

  {Economic: Al Furat News} Adviser to the Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi for political and financial affairs said: “The results of the International Donors Conference in Kuwait for the Reconstruction of Iraq are {zero}”.

It is noteworthy that the pledges of the countries participating in the Kuwait Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, held in 2018, amounted to about 30 billion dollars, provided that this assistance will be in the form of loans, credit facilities and investments provided to Iraq in order to rebuild what was destroyed by the war against ISIS terrorist gangs.

Mazhar Muhammad Salih told the “Before Suhoor” program on Al-Furat satellite channel this evening: “The conference remains a sign of international solidarity with Iraq.”

He added, “Iraq’s direct loss to the ISIS occupation is about $29 billion.”

He pointed out that “Qusay Saddam withdrew 900 million dollars from the Central Bank of Iraq on the eve of the war on Iraq in 2003.”

Saleh stressed that “there are no accurate figures for the Iraqi balances deposited in Lebanon’s banks.”

He noted, “Iraq’s revenues for the month of February were the highest in the country’s history.”

Saleh said, “There are no final accounts for the 2021 expenditures.”

Al-Ghazi said in a statement, “Partnership and integration in the implementation of vital projects between the public and private sectors have greatly contributed to the consolidation of stability and societal peace, in addition to providing additional job opportunities.”
He added, while chairing the meeting of the Coordination Committee between the Tamkeen Fund and the relevant official institutions, that “the imprint of the initiative of the Central Bank of Iraq and the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, in implementing many projects in Baghdad and a number of provinces, achieved positive returns that were reflected in the reality of Iraqi society, and met the country’s need.” Through its careful selection of the influential sectors, after the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers contributed to coordinating the effort between the ministries and governorates.
The statement added, “The Association of Iraqi Private Banks presented, during the meeting, an overview of the most important joint projects with the Central Bank of Iraq, which were implemented during the last period, represented by the project to develop Al-Mutanabi Street, the Judicial Institute, Dar Al-Rashad for the elderly and the University of Baghdad building, and that the stage witnessed the direct development of Street Al-Haboubi in Dhi Qar Governorate, the National Theatre, the House of Cultural Affairs and the Higher Institute for Financial and Accounting Studies, and the development of the old city in Najaf Governorate will begin, and study preparation for the designs for the development of Tahrir Square and its approaches in the center of the capital, Baghdad.

The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, received this Sunday afternoon the Commander of the US Central Command, General Michael Corella and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed security and military cooperation between Iraq and the United States, the course of the war on terrorism, the pursuit of the defeated ISIS remnants, and the latest operations of the Iraqi armed forces in this regard.
And they discussed strengthening joint security coordination, especially after the role of the international coalition against terrorism moved to the stage of assisting in building Iraqi military capabilities and providing advice, support and empowerment. 

Mr. Al-Kazemi stressed the importance of sustaining the momentum in the war on terrorism, preventing ISIS cells from growing again, or establishing footholds for them, and threatening the security of Iraqis and the region.
For his part, General Michael Corella stressed his appreciation for the combat level of the Iraqi security forces, the high performance indicators and their ability to implement their new field tasks, and to invest in the air capabilities provided by the modern Iraqi Air Force aircraft.

During the meeting, the security and military situation at the regional level and joint coordination to end the activity of terrorist groups and the threat they pose to the security and stability of the region were discussed.

The Energy Ministerial Council confirms the completion of coordination with the Iranian side to provide gas to power stations

, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired, on Sunday, a meeting of the Ministerial Energy Council, in the presence of the advanced cadre of the Ministry of Electricity.
A statement by Al-Kazemi’s office stated that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that “the meeting was devoted to discussing the status of electrical energy, the required maintenance work, mechanisms for providing fuel and financial allocations, as well as the security plans necessary to protect the power towers.”
The person in charge of managing the Ministry of Electricity and the advanced staff in the ministry provided a detailed explanation of the status of the electrical system, the required needs, and the implemented directives that the Prime Minister directed in previous meetings regarding electricity.
Al-Kazemi stressed the importance of giving electrical energy and securing it to citizens the highest priority, and directed his sovereignty to work around the clock to address any defect in the electrical system, and that there should always be solutions to any emergency crisis.
He renewed his previous directives regarding the formation of a working group from the relevant ministries to meet all electricity requirements from fuel and transformers, and to protect power towers, in a way that contributes to providing electricity during the coming summer months and relieving the burden of citizens.
During the meeting, it was emphasized the completion of coordination with the Iranian side, regarding the provision of Iranian gas to continue the rates of providing citizens with electric power during the summer. Ended 29 /


World Gold: The world’s gold reserves have declined, and Iraq has not provided any update on its holdings

Shafaq News/ Today, Sunday, the World Gold Council announced a decline in the world’s gold reserves after the central banks of countries sold quantities of it within one month, indicating that Iraq has not provided any update on its gold possession since last October.

The council said in its latest schedule for the month of April of 2022, which was seen by Shafak News Agency; “The world’s gold reserves declined by 6 tons as a result of the central banks selling quantities of it,” noting that “Uzbekistan is the largest seller in the month, as it reduced its gold reserves by 22 tons to 339 tons, and Kazakhstan sold 5 tons, Qatar also sold 6 tons and Mongolia 1 ton and Germany 1 ton”. 

He added, “Turkey dominated net purchases, adding 25 tons to its gold reserves, India buying 2.6 tons during the month, while Ireland, the only active buyer in the developed market, added 1 tons of gold to its reserves.”

He pointed out that “Iraq has not provided any update on its gold holdings since October 2021, but it maintained its global position 39 out of the 100 countries listed in the table with the largest gold reserves, bringing its gold holdings to 96.4 tons, which represents 9.3% of the rest of its other reserves.”
