Adviser to Al-Kazemi: Iraq is in an excellent financial position, and it is time to quickly approve the budget

  {Economic: Al Furat News} A financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, described the financial situation in Iraq, which is derived from crude oil revenues, as “excellent.”

Mazhar Muhammad Salih told {Euphrates News}, “Iraq is in an excellent financial position at the present time, as during the past month, oil revenues increased to 11 billion dollars, and this is a very large number that has not been recorded for five decades.” 
He stressed that “this is a positive aspect, regardless of the profitability of the economy.” 
Saleh added, “We imagine that it is time to present the financial budget law as soon as possible, especially since its draft for 2022 has been prepared for a long time and can be submitted and some amendments made to it.” 
The Ministry of Oil, on the first of this April, announced that it had exported more than 100 million barrels during the month of March, achieving revenues that exceeded 11 billion dollars, which is the highest financial revenue achieved since 1972, according to the ministry.

Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Finance reviewed the financial institutions’ business results for the past year.

The ministry’s media office said in a statement received by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “the ministry participated in the activities of the annual meetings of the Arab financial bodies with the participation of representatives of the Arab ministries of finance and economy, which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

The statement indicated that “the meeting was attended by the Adviser to the Prime Minister and a delegation from the Ministry of Finance headed by Undersecretary Taif Sami, Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department, Director General of the Public Debt Department, Director General of the Iraqi Fund for Foreign Development, and a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture with the participation of the Central Bank of Iraq.” 

He explained, “The meeting reviewed the results of the financial institutions’ work for the past year, evaluated the achievements, and discussed future prospects for enhancing the role of financial institutions in strengthening the bonds of cooperation among Arab countries.”

It is noteworthy that the Arab financial institutions and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development hold their meetings annually, during which the performance of each body and the topics on its agenda are reviewed.

These bodies contribute to providing the necessary financing for development projects, support balances of payments, structural adjustment, investment guarantee services and export credit in the region, in addition to contributing to the financing of Arab development projects, which enhances their role in developing the wheel of the Arab economy.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health, with the support of the World Health Organization, was able to assess the readiness of the Iraqi health system and its ability to provide health security for all citizens, and concluded with important recommendations that would advance the health sector in the short and medium term, and we strive together to reach comprehensive health coverage.

On the other hand, he stressed that climate change is responsible for 23% of the total burden of disease in the northeastern Mediterranean, as an estimated one million people die prematurely in our region due to living in an unhealthy environment and lead to environmental risks, which are pollution of water and air with toxic substances and a lack of water and services To exacerbate the inherent vulnerability of our countries to infectious diseases.

Shafaq News/ The Friday preacher of Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji, called on the coordinating framework that includes Shiite political forces, and the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr to sit at the dialogue table and solve the existing problems between them on forming the next federal government.

Al-Qabbanji also called in the Friday prayer sermon, not to “waste any Shiite bloc in forming the government,” and said: It is not right to neglect any Shiite bloc, otherwise we will be a minority.
