Today, Tuesday, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, announced that all technical preparations for holding the presidential election session on the seventh of this month have been completed, stressing that the election of the presidency will not be postponed, even for one hour, from its scheduled date.
Abdullah added, in a statement to his party’s official website, seen by “Nass” (February 1, 2022), that “the parliament’s presidency is committed to the constitutional deadlines, and it is not linked to political disputes between the competitors, and it is proceeding with the constitutional entitlement, after announcing the names of the competitors and completing the technical preparations for the process.”
Last January, the World Gold Council published its report on the reserves of central banks in the world of gold, and the data showed that the reserves amounted to 35571.3 tons of the metal.
According to the data, total reserves increased by 11 tons in the January 2022 report, compared to December 2021.
The United States leads the world in precious metal reserves, with 8,133.5 tons, followed by Germany (3,359.1 tons), then Italy (2451.8 tons), France (2436.4 tons), and then Russia (2298.5 tons).
Gold is a safe haven, especially in times of crisis, as many people tend to buy it to hedge against inflation risks, and in the past years, the prices of the precious metal have risen in light of the Corona virus crisis and its consequences.
As for the Arab world, Saudi Arabia leads the Arab countries in gold reserves, as the Kingdom owns 323.1 tons of the precious metal, while Iraq ranked fifth, according to the first report of the World Gold Council this year.

Shafaq News/ A source in the Shiite coordination framework revealed, on Tuesday, that a meeting of Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish political forces will be held at the end of this week in the capital, Baghdad.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, “The meeting will include the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, or his representative, the head of the Fatah Alliance Hadi al-Amiri, leaders from the coordination framework, the head of the Progress Alliance, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and the representative of the presidency of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union.”
He pointed out that “the meeting will discuss preparations for holding a session to elect the president of the republic without any political crisis, in preparation for assigning an appropriate person to form the next government during the period specified by the constitution.”
This movement comes in the wake of an initiative launched by Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani, which led to the meeting of the Triple Alliance, in Al-Hanana (Sadr’s residence in Najaf), which included Nechirvan Barzani, President of Kurdistan Region (the Democratic Party), Khamis Al-Khanjar and Muhammad Al-Halbousi for (sovereignty), with the chest.

Harb said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency; It is “with reference to the lawsuits submitted by the plaintiffs, some of whom are Representatives Aley Nassif Jassem, Atwan Sayed Hassan, and Abdul Amir Najm, which were set on 2/1/2022, that is, hours after writing this opinion, in which they requested the invalidity of the current Presidency of the House of Representatives elections and the acceptance of the parliamentary bloc. The most numerous presented by the coordination framework on that day, and we simply say that the outcome of the lawsuits and their fate will be the same as the fate of those who preceded them.”
