Shafaq News/ The leader of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, valued, on Monday, the initiative launched by the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, to resolve the dispute between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement, and unify the Shiite house.

The initiative launched by Barzani led to the meeting of the Triple Alliance, in Al-Hanana (Sadr’s residence in Najaf), which included Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region (the Democratic Party), and Khamis al-Khanjar and Muhammad al-Halbousi for (Sovereignty), with al-Sadr.

Shafaq News Agency learned, that an expanded meeting will be held before the presidential election session, bringing together the Triple Alliance (the Sadrist bloc, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Sovereignty Alliance) on one hand, and the leaders of the coordination framework on the other hand, in the capital, Baghdad.

Al-Khanjar wrote, in a tweet to him on Twitter, that “most of the initiatives of difficult times come from good Erbil, and from President Barzani, in 2010 he saved the country from a stifling political crisis, and today the same scene is repeated.”

He added: “Thanks and appreciation to Muqtada al-Sadr for accepting the initiative and with a purely national decision, in order to preserve the unity and stability of Iraq.”

This comes, after a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Bankin Rekani, expressed his displeasure earlier in the day that Khanjar did not refer to Barzani’s initiative during his comment on the Al-Hananah meeting in which he accompanied the President of Kurdistan Region and Parliament Speaker with Al-Iraqi, to meet with the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr. .

Al-Khanjar had tweeted, earlier on Monday, about the meeting that took place in Al-Hananah between the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, and Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi.

Baghdad / Obelisk: The Kurdistan Democratic Party confirmed, on Monday, January 31, 2022, that the initiative launched by the party’s leader, Massoud Barzani, will show its results within the next two days, pointing out that the formation of the government will go to the Sadrist bloc. 

The leader of the party, Mohsen al-Saadoun, said in a press statement that the initiative launched by Barzani has results and will be evident within two days, explaining that the initiative may push al-Sadr to satisfy the partners. 

He added that Al-Sadr fully appreciates the initiative, in order to reach understandings with the coordination framework.

Al-Saadoun expressed his optimism about the next steps to resolve the problems. We hope that what the partners decided will be achieved. 

He pointed out that the formation of the next government will be by the Sadrist bloc, pointing out that there are those who exploit the dispute between al-Sadr and the framework, and security breaches occur, such as hitting party headquarters and Baghdad Airport. 

On Monday, January 31, 2022, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, renewed the majority government, while he welcomed the dialogue with the national opposition. 

Al-Sadr said in a blog post, “Stop terrorism and violence against the people and partners. We are still with the formation of a national majority government.” He added, “We welcome dialogue with the national opposition.”

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) clarified, on Monday, the details of the Al-Hanana meeting in Najaf, which was sponsored by the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr, while stressing that the party wanted to deliver a message at the meeting confirming its support for the government of the national majority.
The leader of the party, Rebin Salam, said, “The meeting witnessed the presentation of the historic and important initiative of the political process in Iraq by the party leader, Massoud Barzani, which was carried by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, which came to save Iraq from political stagnation with the approach of voting on Candidate for the Presidency of the Republic,” noting that “the vote on the three presidencies is linked to each other to prevent leaving a gap for foreign interference and non-Iraqi interests.”
He added, “Barzani and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi took this initiative as they lead the two parties with the highest number of seats in parliament from the Sunni and Kurdish components, and they spoke with al-Sadr as the sponsor of the largest bloc in order to respond to popular demands.”
Salam stressed that “the message that the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Sunni House wanted to deliver is to support the government of the winning national political majority and to form it from the three houses,” noting that “we tried previously to enter into a consensual government and did not get positive results.”
Salam sent a message to the politicians, calling on them to “join this strong and broad alliance based on the election results.”
And he added, “The three parties are the strongest and the winner at this stage, and any bloc that does not want an alliance must go to the opposition, and because Iraq is a democratic country, there must be a strong opposition.”
