Shafaq News/ An informed political source revealed, on Wednesday, that the procedures for forming the next government are proceeding in full swing, and it is hoped that the final formation will be announced next March, suggesting that some forces of the coordination framework may join the Sadrist bloc if consensus cannot be reached. Between the frame and the chests.

The source told Shafaq News Agency, “The available information confirms that the active forces in the political scene are working on completing all necessary procedures to form the government, including determining the value of ministerial portfolios and distributing them according to electoral weight, not party.”

He added, “The government’s new vision is based on prioritizing the public interest over factional interests to ensure a strong government capable of taking fateful decisions away from external pressures or influences.”

He pointed out that “the announcement of the formation of the government of the national majority will be during the month of next March, and it may be the fastest government formation to be revealed, as it takes into account the controls or what is required by the national government program, whether by choosing the people of ministers or the distribution of ministerial portfolios in general.”

The source indicated that “there are serious attempts by some mediating parties to unite the Shiite house and revive it again according to the requirements of the current stage, and those attempts may succeed or fail, but it is certain that some forces of the coordination framework may join the Sadrist bloc and its allies if the attempts to restore the Shiite house fail.”

He pointed out that “the last statement of the coordination framework forces revealed a real desire of their forces to continue dialogue to overcome the crisis.”

The coordinating framework had announced in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, after a meeting of its leaders that was held at Hammam Hammoudi’s house and lasted until the early hours of the dawn, that it will proceed with the objection to the Federal Court to address the major imbalance in the first session of the House of Representatives.

Al-Attar said, “We believe that the paths to achieving the constitutional benefits are not correct and contain the nutrients of a political and societal crisis that may prevent the success of any government or parliamentary effort in achieving the people’s important demands and aspirations, alleviating their suffering and improving their service and economic reality.”

The framework concluded its statement by saying, “We still believe that frank and direct dialogue that is committed to collective goals and national commonalities is the easiest and fastest option in overcoming crises and formulating long-term solutions.”

In addition, the independent representative of the “Independent Iraq” coalition, Ali Al-Saadi, confirmed to Shafaq News Agency, that “our coalition stands at the same distance from everyone, but we may go with the largest bloc if the picture becomes clear,” noting that “things are going smoothly and the coming days may witness.” A positive breakthrough.

He added, “Some political forces tried to win over some independents in various ways to raise the number of their seats, but most of the independents maintained their independence.”

Al-Saadi indicated that his coalition “had 15 deputies, two of them, after checking and recounting, lost their seats, and three went to the parliamentary opposition to make the political process successful and the government program matured.”

It is noteworthy that the dispute still dominates the relationship between the coordination framework and the Sadrist bloc, which has 76 parliamentary seats, which made it at the forefront of the political forces controlling the current political scene, in addition to setting difficult conditions for entering into a strategic partnership with the Shiite forces, which prevented the formation of a united Shiite front. The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, has decided to exclude former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, while the framework forces allied with al-Maliki are trying to resolve the dispute and settle matters to form a government.

Baghdad / Obelisk: The World Bank expected, Wednesday, January 12, 2022, that Iraq will witness the highest economic growth among the Arab countries during the years 2022 and 2023.

In a report for the current month of January, the bank said, “It is expected that Iraq will witness the highest economic growth among the Arab countries and the State of Iran during 2022, at 7.3 percent, up from 2.6 percent in 2021, after this growth decreased to -15.7 percent in the year 2020. “, noting that “it is expected that economic growth in Iraq will remain higher than the rest of the Arab countries for the year 2023 despite its decline to reach 6.3 percent.”

The bank added that “the economic growth of Saudi Arabia in 2022 is expected to be 4.9 percent, Qatar 4.8 percent, Kuwait 5.3 percent, Egypt 5.5 percent, UAE 4.6 percent, Bahrain 3.2 percent, Tunisia 3.2 percent, Jordan 2.3 percent, and Algeria 4.1.” percent, Iran 2.4 percent, Djibouti 4.3 percent, Oman 3.4 percent and Algeria 2 percent.

While the bank did not indicate its expectations for Lebanon and Libya due to the lack of clear economic indicators for it, noting that “economic growth declined in Lebanon in the year 2021 to -10.5 percent, and economic growth in Libya rose in the same year to 78.2 percent.”

The World Bank raised its forecast for the economic growth rate for the Middle East and North Africa region, in conjunction with the recovery of sectors that have been severely affected since the outbreak of the pandemic, coinciding with the rise in oil prices and the easing of monetary policies.

The World Bank expected growth in the Middle East and North Africa to accelerate to 4.4% in 2022, after raising expectations issued in June 2021, with the region’s economy growing by 3.4% in 2023. With the recovery of sectors that depend on communication, and the decline in oil production, As well as the facilitative policy environment in general.

And the economic expert, Hilal al-Tahan, said in an interview that the obelisk followed, that “the rise in economic growth in any country is a positive indicator of the improvement of its economy, but at the same time it still considers Iraq a rentier dependent mainly on the oil sector.”

The higher the oil prices and the higher the production, the higher the growth in Iraq, but from the economic point of view the reliance on one resource to achieve the growth rate is a negative point, not a positive one.

He stressed that “Iraq needs to develop and diversify sources of income and focus on the agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors to contribute effectively to achieving the growth rate and not relying on oil only to achieve an increase in the growth rate.”

The economic expert concluded his speech that “there is a plan that the government seeks to achieve, which is to focus on the agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors in order to increase the rate of economic growth in the near future.”
