Shafaq News/ The head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan al-Adari, submitted a list of the names and signatures of the most numerous parliamentary bloc to the new parliament presidency.
The bloc, which has the largest number, according to the constitution, addresses the formation of the new government.

He added: “So that (Parliament) will emerge from it a national, honest, service-oriented government that preserves sovereignty and the country’s decision, takes care of its people, preserves its dignity and seeks serious and real reform.”

Shafaq News/ The new Iraqi parliament speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, announced the opening of the door for candidacy for the presidency.
Al-Halbousi said, “The nomination for the position of President of the Republic will be opened within 15 days, according to the constitutional timings.”
Subsequently, Al-Halbousi adjourned the council’s session to an unknown time.

Shafaq News/ The new presidency of the Iraqi parliament has officially assumed its duties, after an election session with the majority of votes.
The new parliament presidency consists of Muhammad al-Halbousi as speaker, Hakem al-Zamili as first deputy, and Shakhwan Abdullah as second deputy.
Al-Halbousi said in his speech, “We need to correct many paths. It is time to restore confidence in the political process.”
He added that it is “a first step in a long way to reform many institutions and joints.”

According to the Media Department of the House of Representatives, Representative Muhammad al-Halbousi won 200 votes, while his rival, Representative Muhammad al-Mashhadani, received 14 votes, while the number of false papers also reached 14 votes.
The oldest speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Khaled Al-Daraji, presented, on Sunday evening, two candidates for the presidency of the Council.
Al-Darraji said, during the first session of Parliament, which was held this evening, that the deputies nominated for the presidency of the House of Representatives are Muhammad Rikan al-Halbousi and Mahmoud al-Mashhadani.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives resumed its inaugural session of the fifth parliamentary session, on Sunday, headed by Khaled Al-Daraji, after the transfer of the head of the age, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani to the hospital.
In its statement, the parliament’s media department indicated that the number of deputies in attendance decreased to “205 deputies”, after the session opened with the attendance of 325 deputies.
