The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, said in a joint press statement with the leader of the Patriotic Union, Imad Ahmed, after the meeting, that: “This is the first meeting at the level of the two political bureaus, during which we emphasized the joint work in negotiating with Baghdad.”
He stressed, “The party’s desire for the participation of the rest of the Kurdish political parties in the delegation and negotiations, but the relations between us and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are the basis and we will go together to Baghdad.”
For his part, Imad Ahmed said, “During the meeting, we stressed that we went to Baghdad aimed at guaranteeing the rights of the Kurdish people, and the entitlements of the region in the formation of the next federal government, and in the Iraqi state so that we can be real partners in the new, democratic, federal Iraq, and in order to be able to Providing better services to the code and the Iraqi people as a whole.
