The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the financial implementation rate of the current year’s budget has reached 99 percent, which is the highest, compared to previous years, while noting that the next stage will be the stage of correcting development and economic paths. 
The ministry stated in a statement received by the “National News Center”, that “this came during the minister’s chairing of the meeting of the opinion board in the ministry in its sixth and last session for this year.”

The minister added that “the high rate of implementation in the budget is due to the increasing movement in the implementation of investment projects, and the launch of financial allocations for these projects in their three phases,” praising “the great efforts made by the Ministry of Planning’s employees in following up on the implementation of the plans of ministries and agencies not associated with the Ministry and the governorates.”

And he indicated that “work in the ministry was continuous, including official holidays.”
The Minister of Planning pointed out that “the next four years will be pivotal in the Iraqi economy, after the great and dangerous repercussions that the country has faced during the past years,” stressing that “the next stage will be the stage of correcting development and economic paths, leading to improving the level of services provided to citizens in all fields.”
The statement added that, “In addition to this, the opinion board discussed in its sixth session, which was attended by the two undersecretaries, heads of agencies and formations and general managers in the ministry, a number of issues and files related to the work of departments and formations, follow-up to the implementation of projects, and work towards improving the performance level of workers in the ministry.”
He added, “As during the meeting, a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of industrial property rights was discussed between the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control and the Syrian Commercial and Industrial Property Protection Directorate.”
He explained that “the meeting witnessed a discussion of the prospects for joint cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and the American University in Baghdad, in the field of leadership programs, programs for statistical analysis, advisory services, and the development of the English language.”

A political source said in an interview with “Mawazine News” that “Al-Sadr invited the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri, the head of the Ataa movement Faleh Al-Fayyad and the head of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais Al-Khazali, to meet in Al-Hanana.”

He added: “The government’s concessional financing must play its role in the development activity of the markets, in addition to adopting policies to direct the available and uninvested economic surplus to the scope of investment through guarantor partnerships between the state and the private sector within the development of the social market ideology referred to in the country’s five-year development plan and in solidarity with the implementation of The plan is the same in the spirit of the white paper.” Ended 29/H

Iraq officially joins the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

Capital Bank seeks to expand in Iraq and Saudi Arabia to finance trade

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Capital Bank of Jordan, Bassam Al-Salem, said that he is seeking to expand in Iraq and Saudi Arabia to finance trade between these countries.

Al-Salem said in a press statement, “The bank seeks to expand in Iraq through its 62 percent stake in the National Bank of Iraq, a retail bank whose assets have nearly doubled within a year to $1.1 billion.”

Al-Salem explained that “the Jordanian Capital Bank obtained the approval of the Saudi Cabinet to open a branch of the National Bank of Iraq in the oil-rich country, which will enhance the financing of trade between the three neighboring countries.”

Earlier this year, Jordan Capital Bank completed the acquisition of the Lebanese Audi Bank’s business in Iraq and Jordan in a move to diversify and expand its regional operations.

He said that the assets of the Jordan Capital Bank, whose shareholders include the country’s major industrialists and companies, have grown by 45% since this year so far to about six billion dollars.

Today, Tuesday, the Independent High Electoral Commission officially announced the end of its work and its role in the electoral process.
“Since the announcement of the final results and the names of the winning candidates in last October’s elections, the commission’s work has almost ended,” said the official spokesman for the commission, Jumana al-Ghalay, told (Baghdad Today).

But Al-Ghalai added, “The end of the official work of the Commission is to address the Presidency of the Republic, according to Constitutional Article 54, in order to invite the House of Representatives to hold its first session.”

{Local: Al Furat News} The dismissal of a legal expert, what the constitution and law specified in the convening of the first session of the House of Representatives in its fifth legislative session, after the approval of the Federal Supreme Court yesterday, Monday, on the final results of the early elections that took place last October 10. 

Tariq Harb told {Euphrates News}: “The constitution says that after the approval of the electoral results by the Federal Supreme Court, the President of the Republic must invite the winning candidates to the first session within 15 days from the date of approval.”

Harb suggested that “next week will be a date for the first session for a delay in the procedures for ratifying the election results,” noting that “the President of the Republic must invite the winning candidates, and I think that 7 days are sufficient to hold the first session headed by the oldest member.”

He explained that “the first procedure for the president of the age is to repeat the constitutional oath, he and the winning candidates present in the parliament hall and according to the text contained in Article 50 of the Iraqi constitution, after which the winners will become members of the House of Representatives.”

Harb indicated that, “After taking the oath, the president opens the door for candidacy for the presidency of the House of Representatives, and I believe in my opinion that the nomination will not delay this time in granting confidence to the candidate of the {Sunni} component for the position of the presidency of the House of Representatives, as happened in previous sessions,” noting that “the number of votes required The candidate for the presidency of the Council won 165 deputies.

The Federal Supreme Court had ratified, in a session yesterday, Monday, the results of the legislative elections that were held on the tenth of October, after it rejected a lawsuit filed by political forces to push for the annulment of the results. 

The approval of the results has now opened the way for the new parliament to hold its first session during the next two weeks, then elect a president and a president of the republic, before choosing a prime minister in a process that depends on political negotiations between the different forces.
