Khorshid told Al-Furat Yanouz that: “The Federal Court in the postponement case tried to search in the evidence presented, and according to some leaks that the Commission does not respond to some of the information available to it regarding the technical condition of the devices and the carrier and others.”
He added, “In the case of the postponement, the court tried to find out the truth completely and truly to get the country out of the political impasse.”
“The Federal Court is exercising a legal and political role and is trying to give the political blocs room for dialogue and understanding to get out of the crisis of results and is looking into the country’s supreme interest,” Khorshid said.
He explained, “We are in the coordinating framework. We have confirmed and proven information. We submitted these appeals to the Federal Court, and we have a firm conviction to respect the court’s procedures and decisions. Therefore, we are waiting for a real role to be played in considering those appeals and recounting the manual.”
Khorshid concluded, “The court adopts a state of balance and a way out of the political blockage, and it examines political disputes in accordance with the law and the constitution.”
Today, Wednesday, the Federal Supreme Court concluded the pleading session regarding the appeals submitted in the results of the parliamentary elections, after hearing the last pleas and requests of the litigating parties.
The head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri attended today’s session and presented evidence of fraud and the electoral commission’s tampering with the results before the Federal Court.
Al-Amiri, who filed the appeal, also demanded a re-counting and manual counting in four electoral districts, one each in the Kurdistan region and in the western, central and southern governorates.
