Baghdad / Obelisk: The Independent High Electoral Commission revealed, on Monday, December 6, 2021, the most prominent requests of the Federal Court regarding the complaint of the Al-Fateh Alliance, while clarifying some of the contents of the complaint.
A member of the media team in the Electoral Commission, Imad Jamil, said in a statement followed by Al-Masala that regarding the complaint of the Al-Fateh Alliance, there is a lawsuit related to the devices, tapes, and results.
He added that what the court requested was regarding the content of the examiner’s report and its responses about the opening and closing hours, as well as the intersection of fingerprints, printing reports for results, counting and sorting stations, invalid papers and memory sticks.
He pointed out that the Eloquent German Company said in its report, page 12, that it did not discover any threats, or the presence of a group in the election system that was not addressed, which would impede the voting process, and indicated that the additional technical and material security measures, the electoral system and the operations of the Commission that were put in place during the course of This audit led to the creation of a safer electoral system during the initial audit phase.
He added that the company said that it had identified 168 results that required action from the commission related to electoral security, assets, users and networks, and the commission acted quickly and effectively and addressed all of these results before the elections were held.
Regarding expectations regarding the Federal Court’s decision regarding the Al-Fateh Alliance complaint, Jamil said that the position on the complaint is up to the judiciary, whether it will be based on the opinion of the Commission or another party.
Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, had criticized the commission and questioned its work and the election results.
Political circles expect the coordination framework groups to return to the protest track to impose their conditions in the next government entitlement, especially with the approval of the final results by the commission.
