The manual counting of the contested stations in Baghdad, Najaf and Muthanna has ended

Shafaq News/ The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, on Wednesday, the completion of the manual counting of the contested stations in the capital, Baghdad, and the governorates of Najaf and Muthanna.

The commission said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “The re-counting and manual counting of the contested stations on both sides of Karkh, Rusafa and the governorates of Najaf and Muthanna has been completed, based on the decision of the Judicial Authority for Elections, in the presence of representatives of the contesting candidates, international observers and authorized media personnel.”

She added, “The result of re-counting and manual counting of these stations will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners to take the appropriate recommendation in light of the procedures followed and submit it to the Judicial Authority for Elections.”

She pointed out that “tomorrow, Thursday, will be devoted to re-counting and sorting the stations of Nineveh Governorate, the last of the contested stations.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the commission said it had started the manual counting and sorting process for 264 polluted stations in Baghdad, Muthanna and Najaf.
