{Politics: Al Furat News} The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, on Sunday, its response to 461 appeals to the election results, while it decided to recount the manual counting of 297 new stations.

In a statement, {Al-Furat News} received a copy of it, “It continues to study the appeals submitted to it, as it was audited by the concerned department, and accordingly it was presented 483 appeals to the Board of Commissioners today, Sunday, and after completing the necessary investigative procedures in light of the evidence and the recommendations made, the Board recommended the dismissal of 461 appeals.
The reasons for this were attributed to “the absence of the appeal from the evidence or its violation of the provisions of Article 38 / first of the Iraqi Parliament Elections Law in force, as the appellant did not specify the station or center whose results he is appealing against, as well as his demand to open all stations of the electoral district or to prove that the announced results match.” Announcing, “Send these appeals with a recommendation to the Judicial Commission for Elections for decision in accordance with the law.”
The commission indicated that “the council decided to approve the re-counting and manual counting of 297 of the contested electoral stations based on 22 appeals distributed to the governorates of {Diyala, Nineveh, Maysan, Karbala, Kirkuk, Dhi Qar, Anbar, Qadisiyah, Salah al-Din, Muthanna, Basra, Baghdad and Babil} as it was supported by evidence. And that the council will make the appropriate recommendation in this regard after completing the counting and sorting procedures.
The Commission denied “the validity of what is being reported by some media and social networking sites regarding the outcome of these appeals, as this result will be announced by the Commission after the procedures for the manual counting and sorting process, which will be in Baghdad, as we explained.”
And she confirmed, “It will start with the manual counting and sorting procedures for the contested stations belonging to the Nineveh Governorate Elections Office, starting from Wednesday, October 27, from 8 am to 5 pm, followed by the rest of the contested governorate offices’ stations, which will be announced according to a later timetable to determine The names and numbers of the contested centers and stations at the governorate and district levels.
The Commission explained, “The manual counting and sorting process will take place in the presence of the representatives of the candidates in the contested district with its stations, observers and the media, and the Commission will continue to consider the rest of the appeals, successively.”
